It started with
a very real need.
In 2019, I divorced. My son was just three years old. His mother and I had to find a way to manage the permissions, documents and decisions that came with raising him between two households.
There had to be an easier way.
I spent nights trying to make it work with what was already available. Online forms. Links shared through messenger. Photographs of documents. Scanning, printing and sending things back and forth.
Each tool helped with one small part. But bringing the details, the people and the signatures together was still complicated. I wanted a simpler way to keep everything in one place.
A family challenge. Beyond separation.
Along the way, I realised that this wasn’t just something separated parents had to deal with. Parents living together needed these permissions too. So did grandparents and other trusted adults helping with a child’s plans.
That was when the idea for easyConsent® began: a way to bring the people, details and decisions behind a consent together, without having to piece everything together from messages and paperwork.
For parents who share responsibility.
Parents may not agree on everything. I hope easyConsent® can make the practical side of giving consent simpler: clear details to review, a shared document and a way to keep track of what has been agreed.
It cannot make decisions for a family or resolve a disagreement. But when people are ready to agree, the paperwork should not make it harder.
The vision: clear consent for everyday life.
What began with my own family became a bigger ambition. I want easyConsent® to become a digital consent wallet people can turn to whenever a plan needs permission or a clear agreement.
Families and friends should be able to understand what they are agreeing to, bring the right people together and keep their documents close at hand. From a child’s trip to other everyday arrangements, the process should feel straightforward and understandable.
Children Travel Consent is the starting point. Our vision goes beyond one form: we plan to add hundreds of forms, step by step, for the permissions and agreements people need in everyday life.
The best ideas often come from a real need, just as this one did. If there is a form you wish existed, please tell us. Everyone is welcome to suggest an idea and help shape what we build next.
Suggest a formBuilt to help. With room for understanding.
Helping other parents was the reason I started. There are costs behind building and keeping easyConsent® running, so I cannot offer every consent for free.
But if you are facing financial hardship and genuinely cannot afford a consent, please write to me. We will look for a way to help.
With the hope of making things a little easier for other families,
René Simon
